Context Sensitive Solutions Unit

Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) functions within the project development process in each regional design center and provides methods and assistance in incorporating community and environmental values into the transportation facilities being designed statewide. CSS advocates a collaborative interdisciplinary approach which involves all stakeholders in a holistic process which seeks to provide safe, sustainable, and efficient transportation facilities that fit their setting while preserving cultural, historic, aesthetic, community and environmental resources. Where appropriate, attention is also given to providing multimodal solutions to transportation demand
