American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The federal Recovery Act is meant to boost our economy and create jobs by modernizing our nation's infrastructure, enhancing energy independence, expanding educational opportunities, preserving and improving affordable health care, and providing tax relief.

Transparency and accountability are important and have been built into the process, and through this Web site anyone will be able to track how the funds are used and check on the progress of any projects that are authorized. There are links to the federal agencies directly responsible for programs funded by the new law, answers to frequently asked questions about the law, and there is also an electronic form that may be used to submit proposals for projects that may be eligible for funding under the guidelines set by the federal government.

Times are tough. And though New Mexico has fared better in many ways than other states, many of our citizens are suffering- they have lost their jobs, their homes, their retirement savings. This funding is an opportunity to put people back to work, boost our economy, and make New Mexico ready for the challenges still ahead in the 21st century.
